Vivaldi visits Armadale with Perth Chamber Orchestra

Perth Chamber Orchestra brings highlights of its critically acclaimed concert ‘Vivaldi by Candlelight’ to the City of Armadale to close the inaugural Armadale Arts Festival. With the initiative and vision of Perth music industry veteran John Christmass, Perth Chamber Orchestra and the City of Armadale have worked together to bring this magical concert to St. Matthew’s Church, in the heart of the town.
John says he has been trying for more than 50 years to organise an event like this in Armadale. Perth Symphony has a close relationship with John and are delighted to bring his dream to life.
In a somewhat new format for Perth Symphony, there will be an opportunity for guests to attend an afternoon matinée recital or an evening concert. The evening concert includes an Italian dessert and wine, matched to the program in true PCO style.
The program includes highlights from three years of sell out ‘Vivaldi by Candlelight’ concerts, performed around the Perth metro area (Claremont and Perth CBD). Movements from Vivaldi’s famous ‘The Four Seasons’ will feature solos from Concertmaster Paul Wright, between sublime pieces from Boccherini and Telemann to name a few.
Artist Director Jessica Gethin worked closely with Producer Bourby Webster and Concertmaster Paul Wright to pull together a program which shows the beauty and intricacy of the Baroque era, which is bound to equally delight those who are familiar with Baroque music, to those who will experience it for the first time.
This concert is made possible with the support from Presenting Partner – City of Armadale, Concert Partner – Season’s Funeral Homes, Event Partner – Millbrook Winery and Orchestra Partners AHG and SevenWest Media.
