Perth Symphony Summer Concerts

1 December - 29 February 2020

The mission of Perth Symphony Orchestra is ‘Music for Everyone’, and we love taking the orchestra on the road and into new communities and sharing the magic of the Symphony with as many people as we can.

Perth Symphony ‘DISCOVER’ concerts: where communities discover each other, and the magic of the symphony, all in one evening.

This summer, we will be bringing the Symphony to a community near you!

Bring a picnic, bring your family, bring your entire street! These concerts are an excuse to bring everyone together for a stunning summer evening under the stars and remember to check back here regularly to see where else we will be going!

  • City of Bayswater: Aussie Rock with Perth Symphony
    Join us at the City of Bayswater as we deliver you one high energy Aussie Rock concert! With hits from AC/DC, Crowded House, Gotye, Tame Impala, and all your favourite Aussie legends. Pack a picnic, choose from a variety of food trucks, or pick up dinner from one of the many fantastic local restaurants in Morley.
    This is a free community event sponsored by Lotterywest.

         Date: 1st of February | Show starts 7pm

  • City of Rockingham : Romance on the Green
    Perth Symphony Orchestra with special guests, conducted by Jessica Gethin, return in 2020 for Romance on the Green.
    Bring a picnic and relax to the sounds of the Perth Symphony Orchestra as they cover your favourite film tunes, orchestra classics, rock hits and musical theatre anthems. There will also be food trucks, free face painting and mini golf!

         Date: 22nd of February | 6pm to 9pm

  • Perth Festival presents Highway to Hell 
    Bring the family and join us as we celebrate our city and its connection to iconic Aussie band AC/DC. From the Raffles Hotel to the Old Fremantle Traffic Bridge we’re closing the road to create a musical event that will have everyone singing along. Taking inspiration from the AC/DC song of the same name and Bon Scott’s connection to the area we’re paying homage to Highway to Hell.
    From Aussie rock to Finnish folk, big band to symphonic sounds, artists as diverse as Pigram Brothers, Amyl and the Sniffers and Perth Symphony Orchestra will belt out their versions of AC/DC classics and other top tunes. Celebrate this free family event with a picnic along the highway, enjoying the show as it drives on by!

  • ECU presents Music Under the Stars 
    The spectacular annual alfresco concert will be in its 8th year and brings together esteemed guests and ECU alumni to enjoy a musical showcase in the stunning amphitheatre in front of ECU’s Chancellery Building.
    Perth Symphony Orchestra, is joined by a number of accomplished and talented WAAPA students to bring us orchestral music with a twist. Performing a range of classic and contemporary Australian songs from Kylie to ACDC.

  • Claremont Christmas Festival 2019
    Christmas is right around the corner, so join us for the Claremont Christmas Festival! When the sun sets, light up a candle as we performed carols for you to sing along to. An  evening of family fun, including train and camel rides, face painting, arts and crafts activities, and a bouncy castle.  There will be a fantastic selection of food stalls to stop your bellies from rumbling, so bring along a picnic basket, grab a bite, and settle in for a festive evening under the stars.
    If you keep your eyes peeled you might spot a certain someone with a white beard and a red suit… we’ve already said too much! Just make sure you’re there because you will not want to miss our special guest.This is a free event for the whole community. Entertainment and activities kick off at 4pm, with carols starting at 7pm.

  • City of Kwinana presents  Summer Symphony 2019
    The biggest and best FREE live music event in Kwinana is back for 2019! The Summer Symphony will include your favourite hits from George Michael, ABBA, Stevie Wonder and David Bowie, to name a few, and is sure to make your heart sing and get your toes tapping on a night you’ll never forget!
    Head down to Calista Oval from 5.30pm for a variety of pre-show entertainment, followed by a spectacular performance from the Perth Symphony Orchestra and special guests. Bring along a chair, rug and a picnic, or make the most of the range of food trucks available.
