Live music from Perth Symphony strings and guest artists will be interwoven with stories told by individual West Australians whose connections to the ocean are deeply profound and reflect our own experiences in this isolated but beautiful part of the world.
Whether you surf, swim, fish, sail, or came to Perth by boat, this concert aims to bring to life our Indian Ocean through a stunning music soundtrack featuring works by classical greats such as Vivaldi and Gershwin and contemporary composers including Ross Edwards and John Butler.
Thank you to presenting partner Blue Ocean Monitoring, concert partner UWA Oceans Institute and event partners Fremantle Ports, Gage Roads and Voyager Estate for making this concert possible. ‘Sound & Waves’ is the first in Perth Symphony’s 2021 Heritage Series. We would like to acknowledge and thank the Wright Burt Foundation, for partnering with this series.
