CONDUCTOR’S CIRCLE

Perth Symphony’s Women’s Conductor’s Circle is a group of remarkable women who have generously contributed funds to help advance the career and development of female conductors in Perth.

Their donations, along with funding from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and the Minderoo Foundation, allows us to offer our ‘Women on the Podium’ program free of charge to these talented female musicians.

The program has been offered twice a year since 2018 at St. Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School and so far more than 25 participants have come through our program. Find out more about Women on the Podium here.

If you would like to join Perth Symphony’s Women’s Conductor’s Circle, please email Bourby Webster, CEO.

The Women’s Conductor’s Circle was first launch in 2017, with the 22 Foundation members contributing funds to help advance the career of conductor Jessica Gethin. As a result of their support, Jessica’s career soared internationally and here in her hometown, Perth.  Jessica is now in demand across the world, regularly conducting orchestras across the Asia Pacific regions.

Now the baton has been passed on and the Women’s Conductor’s Circle is returning on the investment as Jessica now mentors the emerging conductors and is Patron of the Women on the Podium program.
