Joining the Perth Symphony Family

Perth Symphony is a vibrant collective of Western Australia's finest musicians. Our orchestra is comprised of both highly experienced players—many of whom have held principal seats in Australia's leading orchestras—and a new generation of rising stars. We're passionate about fostering musical talent and actively seek to provide emerging musicians with opportunities to perform alongside seasoned professionals.

Becoming an Orchestra Member

Performing as a member of the Perth Symphony Orchestra is by invitation only. We welcome expressions of interest from talented musicians who share our passion for innovation and exceptional performance.

Showcasing Soloists

Perth Symphony is committed to showcasing exceptional soloists. We discover talent through various channels:

  • Live performances: We often invite outstanding artists we encounter at concerts and events.
  • Industry recommendations: We value the insights of our colleagues and welcome their recommendations.
  • Direct approaches: Noteworthy musicians are encouraged to contact us directly to express their interest in performing with the orchestra.

Perth Symphony Ensembles

In addition to our full symphony orchestra, Perth Symphony offers a variety of ensembles, including:

  • Perth Symphony Touring Ensemble: A smaller ensemble designed to bring the magic of Perth Symphony to a variety of venues and events.
  • Chamber Groups: Our musicians also perform in smaller configurations, such as string quartets, brass quintets, and wind quintets.

Musicians who have worked with the full Perth Symphony Orchestra are invited to perform in our smaller ensembles.
